Bullying Survey Results Now In

All of the students in the school were asked to comment on the types of bullying that they see in the school and identify incidents that they have experienced.  These confidential surveys asked the students to also identify who they believe is doing the bullying and where it is happening. The staff will review the results as a whole, as a class and in stage groups as we address the issues raised.

The top three elements from the survey from Kindergarten to Year 6 were:

  • Name calling;
  • Being yelled at; and
  • Given unfriendly looks.

Following these surveys we now have a list of students that peers feel are being subjected to bullying, we also have an indication of who is doing the bullying and where this is happening.  Along with staff understanding of the issue we will continue with our Anti-Bullying/Resilience Building program, 'Bounce Back' and act directly on the concerns raised through the survey.The survey was completed thoughtfully by the students and having their input into this important area of school safety will only assist us in making our school 'Second To None'.
