Grays Point Public School - "Our School in the Park"

School Plan for Extreme Fire Conditions

In the event of the Rural Fire Sevice (RFS) declaring the following school day as EXTREME based on the fire rating, we have developed a plan which requires that all staff and students report to Kirrawee High School (21 Hunter Stree, Kirrawee, 9521 2099) for the day (this is called a relocation as the school is closed for regular operations due to the high risk of bushfire).

NO student, staff member or parent is to enter the grounds of Grays Point Public School due to the risk to  personal safety while those conditions apply

These arrangements have been made in consultation with the RFS and the Department of Education and Training (DET).  Three schools have been identified, ours Woronora River and Waterfall Public and all are developing relocation plans.
 Should we need to declare the enacting of this plan we will endeavour to:

  • text message all families at around 6pm the evening before using the SMS;
  • post a notice on our website (Upcoming events and Newsflash);
  • hang relocation signs on the Angle Road school fence; and
  • distribute readiness to relocate notes to every student to take home (if we have sufficient time.)
Please refer to the brochure and other information available through the parent portal on the home page of this website (under downloads).
