Harmony Day Poem
‘Friendship and Fairness’ By Kirra C. Friendship is like waves on the ocean- Sometimes they’re clear soft and peaceful, Sometimes they tower to the skies and break in mountains of foam, Only to become peaceful again. Fairness is like a grassy plain, Luscious and green and full of life in one part And brown rough and dying in the other. Many people take up the green lush, And leave no space for others who are stranded in withered lands. Harmony is when the people of the lush green grass Plant seeds within the brown. It’s when the ocean is calm and peaceful, It’s when the storm never hits. We can all work towards harmony… But first, we must learn to provide friendship and fairness. (Written for Harmony Day 2010.)
Life without meaning, where do we stand? In a bustling city or a great, vast land? Searching for conscience, Souls full of power. Babies born to blossom like a delicate flower. Joining together, smiles are bright. Not a single cry, not a single fight. Showing freedom, feeling a change. All is natural not at all strange. Feeling love, savouring joy. For every man, woman, girl and boy. A magical song, a wonderful sound. Animals leaping across the ground. But what’s happening things are bad. No one’s happy, everyone’s sad. What has gone wrong with our amazing world. People are fighting, suffering it’s all absurd. Why can’t there be nothing wrong. Where is our magical song. Where’s the love where’s the joy. Why is there a crying girl and boy. There is no freedom there is no change. All of this feels so strange. But something glowing, gleaming gold. Its words are fantastic the writing is bold. It will remove all of the strife. Of course it is the guide to life. By Dylan S for Harmony Day 2010 |
